Job Description -
Designer, PCB -
Produces finished documents,
drawings, layouts and designs. Works from
schematics, diagrams, written and verbal
descriptions, layouts or defined plans.
Utilizes, mechanized and/or computer-aided
techniques as required to facilitate the
production of electronic printed board
assemblies.
Electronics Design Drafter -
Direct supervision required. Works from verbal
instruction, sketches, and marked up drawings.
Prepares documentation to industry standards
including schematics, parts lists or Bills of
Material, fabrication and assembly drawings,
component drawings and mechanical detail
drawings. Limited knowledge of
Engineering and drafting standards required.
Typically requires a High School diploma and
technical vocational training in electronics,
drafting, or an AA or AS college degree
and 0 to 1year related experience. This is an
entry level or trainee position. Typically
this is an hourly position.
PCB CAD Librarian - Direct or
limited supervision. Supports the PCB Designer
in creating CAD database entries for component
physical description and Schematic Symbol
creation for use in a CAD system.
PCB Designer Level 1 - Direct
supervision required. Aids in basic design
of printed circuit boards. Determines
dimensions and criteria for revisions to
simple pc boards and also drafts new
printed circuit board designs. Limited
knowledge of Engineering and drafting
standards required. Normally
receives detailed instructions on work
assignments of a limited scope. This is an
entry level
or trainee position. Typically requires a
High School diploma and technical
vocational training in electronics,
drafting, PCB design or an AA or AS college
degree and 0 to 1year related experience.
Can be an hourly or salaried position.
PCB Designer Level 2
- Limited Supervision, aids in
semi-complex design of printed circuit
boards. Determines dimensions and criteria
for revisions to semi-complex boards and
also drafts new printed circuit board
designs. Normally receives general
instructions on routine work assignments
and detailed instructions on new
assignments. Typically requires a college
degree and 1 to 4 years related
experience. This is typically a salaried position.
PCB Designer Level 3
- General Supervision, aids in complex
design and engineering of printed circuit
boards. Determines dimensions and criteria
for high density complex revisions to
boards and also drafts new printed circuit
board designs. May provide work leadership
and training to lower level designers. This
is the senior level non-management
position. Typically requires a
college degree and at least 5 years related
experience. salaried position.
